Gregory Machinery - Testimonials

I found myself in the market for a new bandsaw this week, and after a little contemplation, I decided that I would continue my support of the JET range and buy the JWBS-16. I called my local and unfortunately only supplier of JET products, only to be told that they have no stock and have had none for a year and don’t expect to get some any time soon. Can’t say I was surprised to hear that!

I then spent a little time reconsidering what I wanted to do; I examined a number of other alternatives and ended up back with JET. During the course of my musings I decided that I probably didn’t do enough re-sawing to need a 16” model so I lowered my sights to the 14” JET or the 14” POWERMATIC. I settled on the POWERMATIC.

I then called my local supplier for the second time only to hear the following. “We don’t have any stock at the moment”. When I asked if that situation might change any time soon, I was assured that “There was probably a container due in the next couple of weeks”. Filled with that useful information, and in desperation I called the NSW supplier who was also out of stock, but at least was a bit more diffident about when it would be available.

Finally I called your company – should have done that in the first place! The phone was answered by a young man named Landen, who, from the outset, was polite, friendly and helpful. He assured me that he had stock of the Powermatic and could arrange freight to Melbourne for me. He called me back within the hour, having obtained a quote from the carrier, and the deal was done.

I tell you all this to highlight what a pleasant experience it was to deal with this young man, both because he was able to supply the goods I wanted but also because of his manners. His counterparts in the other store could learn a lot from him. As an ex-national inventory manager from Coles, I am well aware of the importance of meeting customer expectations in terms of stock availability, and Gregory Machinery gets a big tick from me on that score. I am the proud recipient of the Jet Mini Lathe donated by your company to the Gold Coast Woodturners. I was fortunate enough to accumulate the greatest number of points in the beginners and improvers sections of the Mugreeraba and Gold Coast shows.

It is a great lathe and many thanks to Gregory Machinery for supporting the Gold Coast woodies.

I was in the market for an Edgebander, and with AWISA (show) coming up it was a great opportunity. To have all those machines in one place what a prefect time. I looked at all the Edgebanders in my price range and decided on the Cehisa EP-11 for ease of operation and cost.

It also did not have too many computers telling me it would not start. The guys at Gregory's are very helpful with the installation and also with the after sale.
