Chisel - Oval Skew turning Tool 3/4 (J-709142)
These chisels are designed similarly to the skew chisels but feature a rounded or oval body. This body style makes the chisel easier to roll on the tool rest. The beveled edge is ground slightly steeper for a cleaner cut. They are made from High Speed Steel. The 1/2" and 3/4" chisels are excellent selections.

Sheffield, England, famous for its tool steel, is the birthplace for these superior lathe chisels. Traditionally hot forged, ground and fitted by hand, they hold an edge six times longer than regular carbon steel chisels. They are constructed using M2 High Speed Steel and tempered to Rockwell hardness 62/64 for razor-sharp cutting and demanding turning conditions. They feature ergonomically designed Beech handles that are fitted with heavy-duty solid brass ferrules.
