Sharpeners (Wet stone Grinders)Wet stone grindes are a machine that is used to grind and hone the edges of steel tools and equipment. For examples some items that may be sharpened include scissors, knives, axes and tools such as chisels and planer blades. When sharpening, the tools are guided by different types of jigs depending on the application. When sharpening an object you remove only a minute fraction of the steel each time you sharpen. The grindstone is lubricated by water. The leather wheel is soacked with honing compound and polishes the edges to become razor sharp. No grinding dust is produced to pollute the air and the steel particles are deposited into the water trough. It runs at a slow speed which allows you to fully control the sharpening creating no sparks, therefore no risks to your eyes and can be used safely.
