Drum SandersThe purpose of a drum sander is to efficiently sand a large number of woodworking pieces quickly and neatly. The machine comes with a dust extraction outlet to remove sanding debris from the work area. This unit is used to sand materials at a higher speed than other types of sanders, while enabling the operator to use both of their hands if needed.The unit is set up so that sandpaper can be easily changed to provide different finishes. Another type of drum sander is the oscillating drum sander, which moves the drum side to side at the same time that it rotates. This reduces the static friction that causes burning and eliminates band marks. It also extends the life of the sanding belt by spreading the wear across a broader surface.
