Vertical Bandsaws

Bandsaw machines can be either horizontal, with the blade lowered onto the material, or more commonly vertical, with the material fed into the machine.

A bandsaw is mainly used for cutting a board into two or more smaller boards, cutting irregular shapes or curved shapes, and cutting several pieces the same way by stacking them on top of each other. You would use a narrow blade to assist with small, sudden curves and delicate cuts. Although a bandsaw can make angled and mitered cuts, it will not cut as precisely as a table saw does.

The most important step in using a bandsaw in woodworking is the blade adjustment and tension. This can make all the difference in accurate cutting and avoiding a broken blade. The bandsaw blade is used under high stress and tension, and if not adjusted correctly, can break during use. Other causes of breakage include forcing or twisting the blade, feeding the wood too quickly, and using a blunt blade. The quality of the blade is also very important, because a poorly welded or cheap blade will break easily.

JET

JET was established in the 1950's in the USA and is part of the WMH Tool Group. WMH Tool Group maintains branches in Europe, Asia and North America. The impressive features of JET products are that they guarantee the ultimate in quality.

JET was one of the first importers of machinery and tools manufactured in Asia. With offices in Taichung (Taiwan), Shanghai and Hangzhou (China), a very impressive quality assurance system has been developed, from which our customers benefit from every day.

All JET machines destined for Europe and Australia are CE tested and conform to the latest technical CE standard.

WMH Tool Group also consists of Jet, Powermatic, Performax and Wilton Tools

POWERMATIC

The gold standard in woodworking was not always gold on the outside. In 1921 the first POWERMATIC tool, a planer was produced by Leonard f. Smith, Sr. A lumber dealer. Originally painted green, the planer was built to perform for long durations in the most challenging environments. Demand for these machines grew and the legend of POWERMATIC was born. The power of POWERMATIC soon became known as the gold standard in woodworking for its tremendous performance and durability. It would only be in the years to come that the exterior of each machine reflect its interior gold excellence.

The POWERMATIC name has lasted for more than 85 years and its products are built to last for the future generations. The innovative features incorporated into each machine have earned them numerous awards and countless outstanding reviews.

POWERMATIC is also a part of the WMH Tool Group which consists of Jet, Powermatic, Performax and Wilton Tools
